2012 Australia,

March 2012
It is time to leave for the UK to pick up Harry.
Since arriving home last August we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary party in September with friends and all of the members of our wedding party.

We spent October and November doing some small renovations to our apartment. Removed the spa bath and built a walk through robe in its place and sealed off half of a wardrobe in the main bedroom, cut out a doorway from the kitchen and turned it into an extra pantry. We did the work ourselves so it took a long time but turned out terrific.

December saw us helping our daughter Lisa and grandaughter Ashleigh put an above ground pool in their small backyard. This entailed digging out lawn, realigning a retaining wall,  paving the area and putting up a trampoline. PHEW!!! I am tired just thinking about it. We have now decided to retire from renovating and backyard blitzing.

We have been having such strange weather which I think is happening all over the world. We had a cool November and now a hot December. Today it is 35c and looking out from the balcony everyone is on the beach or getting out of the water. The shark siren warning is blaring out  and swimmers dont go back in for a few hours until the helicopters have followed the sharks ( there were two of them) out away from land.

Nothing keeps them out once the all clear sounds.

Western Australia has had the hottest and driest summer on record and January was spent camping down around the Collie and Margaret River area in our camper, very pleasant with plenty of trees to camp under.

We are leaving Perth on the 31st March and this year we will go to England, France, Spain and Portugal and arriving home 21st August via New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
